Bills to allow seismic safety deadline extension

Two bills were signed by California Governor Jerry Brown (D) that could give hospitals a seven-year extension for seismic safety deadlines.

The bills, Senate Bill 90 and Assembly Bill 113, would let hospitals apply for more time to rebuild or fix any parts of the facility that are in danger of falling during an earthquake, reports California Watch, part of the independent, nonpartisan Center for Investigative Reporting.
