New system to enhance communication between police and ED

A new communications system will help first responders at Holy Name Medical Center, Teaneck, NJ, keep in contact with police headquarters from the hospital’s emergency department.
The hospital’s emergency department, opened in 2008, was built with terrorism in mind, complete with extra thick walls,, reports NorthJersey.com. These walls blocked radio signals and created a “dead zone” for emergency communication radios. The new system will ensure better communication between police, emergency medical responders, and the hospital.
