The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that this year, a single flu vaccine will be available that covers H1N1, seasonal influenza B, and a new strain. Commercial facilities and county health departments will provide the vaccine free at local clinics to low-income individuals, reports the Miami Herald.
Stephen Redd, a CDC official, told the Herald that in the Southern Hemisphere, which is currently in its winter season, flu cases of all kinds have remained low, indicating that we may have a nonpandemic year.
