February 3, 2010
If you're covered by federal OSHA regulations, here's a reminder that you should have posted your Form 300A in your facility as of February 1.

The form provides a summary of job-related injuries and illnesses that occurred in 2009 and must remain posted in the workplace through April 30.

Display your 300A in a common area where notices to employees are usually posted. For more information about OSHA recordkeeping, click here.

Analyzing the Hospital Life Safety Survey

This book by former Joint Commission life safety surveyor Brad Keyes, CHSP, provides a practical, strategic approach to the life safety survey process. Keyes offers a room-by-room, floor-by-floor analysis of the life safety measures you need to have in place to avoid costly citations. He simplifies confusing Joint Commission standards and CMS requirements and reveals what you should be focusing on to pass your next life safety survey.
