Prepare security officers for emergencies involving hazardous materials

Because of their risk of exposure to hazardous substances during emergencies, OSHA recommends that security personnel in all industries receive training on this issue. In fact, OSHA prepared a report, Preparing and Protecting Security Personnel in Emergencies, to help employers understand these training recommendations. In an emergency, security officers could be exposed to hazardous substances that include chemical, biological, radiological, and even nuclear materials.
