Chances may be growing for more medical flight rules

If the 13 fatal medical helicopter crashes resulting in 29 deaths in 2008 don’t impel you to review landing and takeoff procedures at your hospital, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) may provide the inspiration you need. Although nothing is official, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has stepped up pressure on the FAA to move toward more stringent medical flight regulation, addressing its concerns on NTSB’s “Federal Most Wanted List of Transportation Safety Improvements.”
