Utah's state OSHA agency is investigating a trench collapse outside a Salt Lake City hospital that killed a construction worker.
The worker was installing a new water line in the trench on the property of the Veterans Administration Medical Center on December 11, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. The trench allegedly wasn't protected by a trench box, which is similar to a diving cage, Salt Lake City's fire chief told The Tribune.
Utah's OSHA and the company that employed the deceased worker declined comment to The Tribune.
